a little update

So last Monday was Presidents Day!! Sam took the day off, so we had a family day of fun:) First we went bowling. It was a lot of fun. Kaylee ended up winning! She beat Sam by one point. I had the absolute worst game of my life. I got a whopping 51. Sad huh? Our next stop was pizza for lunch and off to the movies. We saw Hotel For Dogs. It was pretty cute. Kaylee loved it since she is totally obsessed with whoofs (dogs)! We ended up running into some friends so the boys had fun sitting next to them.
The boys were busy this week being obsessed with buildling forts. I am not a huge fan of the forts. They are a mess, but the kids love them.
Kaylee kept herself busy writing letters to Hunter (a dog we were watching for the past month). One night when she was supposed to be sleeping she came down with a toy mailbox, opened it up and a ton a papers spilled out. She insisted we mail them to her Hunter. It was so sweet. I haven't mailed the letters yet though.
Last night Sam and I went out with some friends to Shoguns. So yummy! Then we decided to go to our friends house and play with the wii fit they just got. They have this really cool Shaun White Snowboarding game. It was so much fun. It made me think I could snowboard! However I did have a huge problem running into all the trees!

Alex

Alex is also doing great. He loves being a big brother. Everyday Alex, Kaylee and I walk (he rides is scooter) to pick up Kyle. It is a great reason to take a walk everyday. Fortunately the weather is warm enough we can do that. While we're walking Kaylee reaches out her arms for Alex to give her a hug. She really does love him. Right now he is very much into trains. He wanted a big Thomas Train track for Christmas. He also carries many of his trains in his back pack around the house. He also really loves Lightning McQueen and all the Cars stuff. He and Kyle both enjoy jumping on the trampoline. It is something they do everyday. Alex also loves tools and working with his dad on projects!

Kaylee

Kaylee is full of personality. She has just been so fun to have in our family. She is definitely entertaining. She is also so loving. She loves her brothers very much always following them around and wanting to be right in the mix of everything they do. She adores her dad. Everyday she will hear the chime from the front door when Sam comes home and she walks as fast as she can talking, (we don't know what she is saying yet) with her arms streched for her dad. Her favorite toys are her doll house, a big farm she can walk in, babies, and this toy that pops balls out. She has been a super happy baby. She is growing up so fast. She really just wants to do what everyone else does. Her all time favorite thing is her blankie. She has a few. She just loves fleece blanket with fringe. She carries them around all day and put them to her nose and smells them. Don't ask me why.

Unforgetable Moments

We had two pretty unforgetable things happen recently. The first was Kaylee cut her hair!! Yep. I was cutting the boys hair and scattered brained as I am. I took them upstairs to take a shower and left Kaylee downstairs for a few seconds (not thinking). When I got up stairs I immediatedly thought Kaylee. So I ran down stairs and she was just finishing her second snip! I am greatful nothing worse happended. Kaylee managed to make a pretty straight cut, unfortunately it was above her ear. So she has some long framing pieces in the front followed by a straight line along the top of her ear line. Needless to say she will be wearing her hair up for quite some time!!

Our other unforgettable moment belongs to Alex. He was taking a shower in our bathroom, and turned the handle so hard that he snapped it off. Don't ask me how but he managed to cut the screw in half within the housing part of the shower. So half the screw was in the handle and the other half, in the housing part of the shower in the wall. Fortunately I have a husband of all trades and was able to come up with a way to get the housing out. First drilling out some of the screw and cutting off pieces of the housing so he could get it to finally turn a little and come loose. So we avoided a plummer fee but had to spend nearly $200 to replace the shower fixtures!

Kyle

Kyle is doing great. He is doing really well at school and making new friends. It amazes me how quickly he is learning. He picks up things very quickly. He knows a ton of words and reads small books his teacher sends home. He is a radical reader! He is looking foward to playing baseball this spring and soccer. Kyle has also been such a good big brother. There are those sweet moments that just make everything worth it. Last Sunday it was Alex's first day as a sunbeam. He was so nervous. Kyle instinctively told Alex how great it is and how much fun he was going to have. Then grabbed his hand and walked with him to his class. It was so sweet to see how loving he is. He definitely is always looking out for Alex and Kaylee. Kyle also loves to be dad's helper. He is also a big help to me. He willingly picks up toys and brings his dishes to the table. Kyle also has a great imagination. He is always getting in his past costumes! Right now he is into XBOX, playing with his dinosaurs, puzzles, and his many action figures, and running! Kyle and Alex run around the house all day. They are very active!
